Berwick Lodge Accommodation and Facilities


The accommodation consists of
- 8 bunkrooms for 6 people
- 1 bunkroom for 4 people
- 1 large bunkroom for 11 people (this can also be utilised as a teaching space)
- 1 bedroom of 3 single beds
- 2 bedrooms of 1 single bed
The rooms have heating facilities. Mattresses and pillows are provided.

Minimum charge for a night is - $120
Minimum charge for a weekend is - $240 (All prices include GST)
A deposit of $200 is required for each booking.
This deposit is non refundable in the event of the booking being canceled.
There is a spacious, modern kitchen with electric stoves, microwave, multiple toaster, and an instant hot water dispenser. All cooking equipment, utensils, crockery and cutlery are supplied.
An adjacent pantry provides a storage area for food and there is a large fridge and a large freezer for cold storage.

A double server connects the kitchen and the dining room. In the dining room there are
- 7 long tables with easy clean surfaces
- 14 long stools
- a map of the local area

A sliding door connects the common room and the dining room. The common room is a large carpeted room with the following facilities
- wood burner stove
- heaters
- chairs
- couches
- tables
- piano
- clothes drying racks
- bookcase
Outside the common room and the dining room there is a covered deck. There is a bar b que here.

There are modern female and male hand basins, showers and toilets. There is an ample supply of hot water.

There is an electric powered sauna available for use. There is seating for approximately 20 people in the sauna. Changing rooms, showers and a toilet are adjacent to it.

7 different problem-solving items designed to test people’s ability to work as a team of 10 to 12. Allow 2 hours.

10 kayaks with life jackets, paddles and trailer are provided.
Suitable locations for kayaking are
- The canoe lake at the lodge
- Sinclair Wetlands (10 min drive)
- The Waipori River (20 min drive)

2 courses are set up with maps provided.
- 1 course takes about 20 minutes
- The other course takes about 1 hour

- Rifles, ammunition and targets to be provided
- Notify the Warden if you intend to include shooting in your programme
There are tracks starting at the camp ranging from one hour to one day.
- The Warden can provide an area map and information about tramps.
